DESIGNED BY LEATHERS & ASSOCIATES, Ithaca, New York BUILT WITH LOVE BY 1,500 VOLUNTEERS ~ FUNDED BY INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, BUSINESSES, SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, AND GRANTS FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND NON-PROFIT FOUNDATIONS ~ OPENED TO THE PUBLIC ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 12, 2006 Please note: Water service is not yet available at George Park. Please bring refreshments for you and your family.
UNIQUE ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES
Currently, there is no water service at the playground. This delay is related to the road design changes that will be taking place on Nyes Road over the next several months. This has limited our ability to hose down the area surrounding the sandbox, creating quite a beach effect there. This is also why the mister station at the playground does not currently work. Thanks for your patience as we anxiously await the connection of the water lines.
THANK YOU to the AIR NATIONAL GUARD 193rd SOW/CES. The work they performed at the Build Site was invaluable to us. How can we ever thank you!!
WHERE IS POSSIBILITY PLACE LOCATED? The playground is located at the intersection of Nyes Road and Heatherfield Way in the new George Park in Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, PA. Map of Heatherfield Way & N Nyes Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112

We have learned through creating this playground that what is accessible to children and adults with disabilities is safer and more pleasant for everyone. Moms and dads pushing strollers and grandparents with walkers are enjoying the playground, as well as those in wheelchairs. The playground is clean and pleasing to the eye in every way. Our hope is that all community facilities will be modeled after the accessible features that are found at Possibility Place. We welcome your comments and ideas about the playground.
